Back in the days averages over 100,00 were not as common as it is now. With averages of 107.85 by Michael van Gerwen and 106.80 by Martin Adams this game was the best one seen till that moment according to many.

In the end it was Raymond van Barneveld who did beat Michael van Gerwen 6-3 in the quarter final. Barney then won 9-7 against Simon Whitlock en won the tournament by beating Colin Lloyd 13-5 in the final.
