Michael van Gerwen did beat Phil Taylor 3-0 (3-2, 3-2, 3-2) and went on playing Raymond van Barneveld in the semi final. During this match he hit a historical perfect leg making him the youngest player to throw a televised nine-darter.

In the end it was Raymond van Barneveld who won this match and played against Peter Manley in the final. One Dart achieved a 100% record en route to the final against Barney, but Van Barneveld clinched the title with a whitewash 7-0 set victory.
