The final day of the MODUS Super Series delivered high drama on Saturday, with Jimmy van Schie representing the Netherlands in a quarterfinal clash against Czech talent Adam Gawlas.

Van Schie could hardly believe his eyes when Gawlas made an unexpected mistake at a crucial moment—an incident that quickly became the talking point of the match.

Dutch darts veteran Vincent van der Voort, who had initially withdrawn from the competition due to physical issues, was present this time in a different capacity. Serving as a commentator, Van der Voort was equally stunned by what unfolded on stage.

Unfazed, Van Schie capitalized on the opportunity, advancing to the semifinals where he faced Graham Usher. The Dutchman maintained his strong form, securing a 4–2 victory and earning his spot in the final.

With £25,000 in prize money and a coveted ticket to the ADC Global Championship at stake, the final brought Van Schie head-to-head with Canadian star Jeff Smith. The two delivered a thrilling contest, trading legs in a nail-biting best-of-seven encounter.

Smith edged ahead 3–2, but Van Schie responded with a brilliant 92 checkout—single 20 followed by two double 18s—leveling the match at 3–3. The deciding leg came down to fine margins: Van Schie narrowly missed a 126 finish on the bullseye, leaving 25 points remaining. Smith then stepped up to complete an 18 checkout with single 10 and double 4, clinching the title.

With this victory, Jeff Smith becomes the first North American to win a final series of the MODUS Super Series, etching his name into the tournament’s history.
