During the Players Championship 1 there was this moment by Andrew Gilding who had this shocking moment. With Jonny Clayton on 95 he decided not to go to bulls-eye from 121 with which he says he doesn’t believe Clayton can take out his 121 checkout. And then this happened…

Gilding’s thumbs-up was absent this time, and for good reason. He could have kicked himself for his actions and immediately regretted them. However, in the end, he was the one who had the last laugh, as he emerged victorious with a 6-4 win.
And it didn’t stop there, as he also brushed aside Luke Woodhouse in the quarterfinals with a 6-3 victory. An average of over 102.00 against Clayton and nearly 100.00 against Woodhouse shows that Gilding has started the season in excellent form.
The cherry on top would have been the first Players Championship title of the season, but that wasn’t meant to be at the start of this week. Rob Cross put a stop to that in the final. Voltage produced an outstanding 108.55 average, and with 99.20, Goldfinger simply couldn’t keep up.

Players Championship 2 will be played on Tuesday, while Players Championship 3 and 4 will take place on home soil. These events will be held next week on February 17 and 18 at Autotron in Rosmalen. A day later, the same venue will host the ‘ET3-4 Tour Card Holder Qualifiers.’
Meanwhile, the Premier League of Darts has also kicked off, and the Netherlands will not be left out. Week 11 will take place on Dutch soil, with Ahoy Rotterdam once again serving as the venue, just as in previous years. This will happen on Thursday evening, April 17, 2025, by which time the Premier League tension will be running high.
