Wayne Mardle said Gary Anderson was making a problem out of nothing because Mensur Suljovic took the wrong table before the start of the match. He also claimed The Flying Scotsman should be able to handle the tactics of Suljovic slowing down. Anderson wasn’t happy during the match and he had this furious moment.
After he just made it to the quarter final it was Gary Anderson who had some words for Wayne Mardle.
Gary Anderson: “If the boy is better than me I am still gonna play darts against him. Wayne Mardle’s comment that night, what a ticket. ‘If you play a player you need to put him off and slow him down’. That’s comment from a commentator on Sky. (…) Mardle is telling everyone ‘If you got a problem with a player, slow him down or do what you can to put him off’. What a numpty. It’s a great way to tell the public and the youth how to play darts. Well done lads…”
