We have all seen the tension between Gerwyn Price and Daryl Gurney right after their game. But there was another moment during the match which will result in a fine for SuperChin.
He called his opponent a ‘f*cking a$$hole’ during the break as shown on the footage below.
It became yet another moment that will go down in the books as a clash between the two. Previous incidents date back to the 2018 Players Championship Finals and the 2019 Premier League and World Grand Prix.
The two had recently faced off again in a pairs match during the final of the World Cup of Darts. On that occasion, Daryl Gurney and Josh Rock narrowly defeated Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton in a deciding last leg. Interestingly, after the match, the Welshmen were very friendly towards the Northern Irish duo.

While there was needle between Gurney and Price there was also this wholesome moment between Michael van Gerwen and his daughter backstage as shown on this video.
Vincent van der Voort even reveiled later that night it was Michael van Gerwen who tried to calm Gurney and Price backstage after the game. He said “Come on kids, stop fighting” according to his close friend Van der Voort.
At the end of the day, it was Gerwyn Price who came out on top and secured his place in the second round of the World Matchplay. There, he will face Chris Dobey, who earlier in the evening defeated Ricardo Pietreczko.
That match will be played on Wednesday evening, with a place in the quarterfinals at stake. The winner of that game will go on to face one of the men who, despite the earlier controversy on Monday night, were still allowed to take the stage for their respective matches.
