Dimitri van den Bergh likes to be an entertainer on stage but he also likes to do this backstage. Watch The Dreammaker showing his new trickshot.
Some other trick shots are occasionally seen on stage, and James Wade recently experienced this firsthand when he faced Luke Littler. The Machine was taken aback when the 17-year-old played a prank on him.
We also see other tricks on stage that the opponent isn’t always fond of, and Dimitri van den Bergh is no stranger to this. Recently, he has faced quite a bit of criticism when he takes his time for an important throw. In the eyes of his opponent and the audience, this sometimes takes excessively long, giving them the impression that he aims to throw his opponent off rhythm.
Despite the Belgian emphasizing that this is not the case, the criticism about his rhythm difference persists. Van den Bergh, in turn, does not let this affect him much, and that seems to work for him. He was defeated in the quarterfinals at the World Matchplay by the eventual winner Luke Humphries.
In the PDC Order of Merit, he holds 10th place, making him the best Belgian for quite some time, a title previously held by Kim Huybrechts for a long time.
