The Netherlands is in the quarter final of the PDC World Cup of Darts without losing a leg so far. They did beat Dalla Rosa/Turetta from Italy 4-0 and Jehirszki/Lakatos from Hungary 4-0 and Anderson/Wright from Scotland 8-0.

Gian van Veen: “We are not here to lose legs, that is for other countries to do. I joked we are not going to lose a leg for as long as possible.”
Danny Noppert: “I have so much respect for you and I don’t want to say that too often or else he will pass me on the ranking, haha. I really enjoy having you as a partner in this tournament.”
Gian van Veen: “Let’s go and grab that title.”
Danny Noppert: “Well, yeah. Let’s go for it. We are going to destroy them all, poewah!”

It’s not just a comical interview between the two, but there’s also a beautiful moment where it becomes almost emotional when Noppert expresses his respect for Gian van Veen and shares how cool he thinks it is to form a duo with Van Veen.

What they’ve shown so far at the national tournament is nothing short of impressive. First, they defeated Italy 4-0 against Dalla Rosa/Turetta, and then Jehirszki/Lakatos from Hungary were also beaten 4-0.

Next came the draw, which didn’t do them any favors, pitting them against Scotland. Facing Gary Anderson and Peter Wright is definitely not something you’d wish for in the last 16, but the Dutch duo stayed composed and shocked everyone by winning 8-0.

That means they’ve now won 16 legs in a row in this tournament without dropping a single leg. In the interview, they had to look back on that in their own unique way, as they had been joking about it with each other even before the last 16 match.

On Sunday afternoon, the Netherlands will face the Czech Republic in the quarterfinals in an attempt to secure a spot in the semifinals. The Czechs had earlier knocked out Malaysia.

The other quarterfinals are Northern Ireland vs. Ireland, Germany vs. Australia, and Wales vs. Hong Kong. They’ll be played in that order, with the Netherlands vs. Czech Republic match closing the afternoon session.
