Gary Anderson had a shot at the Guiness World Record of Michael van Gerwen. The Dutchman took over the record of most points in 60 seconds from Michael Smith earlier. Michael Smith was in the book with 581 points and Van Gerwen took the record with 644 points.

This time it was Gary Anderson who had a shot to take over this World Record and this is shown in the footage below.

The record concerns the highest number of points ever scored in just 60 seconds. Michael Smith once made an initial attempt, setting the bar at 581 points. An impressive achievement, as this is already more points than a 501-leg—and all in just one minute.

For a while, the name of “BullyBoy” was written in the record books. But then Michael van Gerwen launched an attack on this record. The Dutchman managed to erase Michael Smith’s name from the book by scoring an astonishing 644 points.

The bar was set extremely high, as achieving this requires not only accurate throws but also incredible speed—both in throwing the darts and retrieving them to be ready for the next turn.

Gary Anderson, known for his quick pace, decided to take on the challenge against the 60-second clock. The attempt was even caught on camera, so you can see above how he managed it.

The record now belongs to the Scotsman, and it will take an extraordinary effort to surpass it. Perhaps a very fast player who can throw even quicker than the previous record holders could break it.

Ricky Evans or Danny Lauby might one day launch an official attempt at this new record, but for now, Gary Anderson holds the title among professional players.

Does this sound like a number you could achieve? Take on the challenge, set the timer for 60 seconds, and good luck!
