The 2023 world champion is known for not mincing words and always expressing a clear opinion. He’s done so before, and this time was no different. While in the past, his comments were often self-critical, where he would be defensive, this time, he did not stand up for someone else.
Anderson has hinted several times that he’s already thinking about retirement and that he’d like to spend more time with his family. Yet, he’s still competing at the highest level and continues to amaze.
On the floor, he’s currently throwing astonishing averages, with no one able to keep up with him. In the past four months, his average never dipped below 90, and at one point, he threw an average of over 105.00 no less than 27 times in his last 110 matches.
These are incredible statistics, proving he’s still in exceptional form and remains a serious contender for the big prizes. Right now, that’s the World Grand Prix, and soon, the Grand Slam of Darts and the PDC World Championship 2025 will follow.
In the next round, he’ll face Mike de Decker, and if he wins, he’ll meet Gerwyn Price or James Wade in the quarterfinals. Michael van Gerwen and Danny Noppert were also on his side of the draw, but both were eliminated in their first match.
