Gerwyn Price reached the final of the 2026 World Grand Prix on Saturday evening. In the semi-final, the Welshman defeated Nathan Aspinall 5-2. Price made an excellent start to the match and quickly took a comfortable 3-0 lead. Aspinall then fought his way back into the match and won two consecutive sets, bringing the tension back into the game. However, Price regained control and convincingly won the final two sets.
The match was not without its frustrations. Aspinall became annoyed with the crowd several times, while Price felt that his opponent was allowing himself to be distracted too much by the atmosphere in the venue. Price even advised him backstage to focus more on his own game. Despite the tension, Price remained calm enough to secure the victory.

For Aspinall, the defeat was particularly disappointing. He had impressed in the quarter-final, beating Ryan Joyce 3-0 with an average of 105.15. Against Price, however, he could not reach the same level and finished with an average of 84.63. Price averaged 89.90 and proved stronger at the crucial moments.
With the victory, Price booked his place in Sunday evening’s final, where he will face Luke Humphries.
