During the press conference after the last race of the season in Abu Dhabi there was this moment between Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas. The Red Bull driver said he was able to get the pole position and win this weekend because he heard Mercedes turned their engines down.
But Lewis Hamilton was surprised and had no idea as he asked Valtteri: “Is that right?”

Max Verstappen: “I also read they had to turn down the engines down a bit so of course that is not helping them”
Lewis Hamilton: “What was that about our engine? What was that about?”
Max Verstappen: “The MGU-K”
Lewis Hamilton: “Us?”
Max Verstappen: “Yeah, that is what they said”
Lewis Hamilton: “Is that right?”
Valtteri Bottas: “I am not sure”
Lewis Hamilton: “I don’t think that is the case”
Valtteri Bottas: “Honestly, I wasn’t aware that the engine was turned down. I can’t really say much. I don’t know if it was how much it was so I don’t know. Red Bull was obviously quicker and for the first time this year they have such a gap on the race pace. There is not much more to say”
Lewis Hamilton: “Yeah, same really. Next when we go back now we will ask about it because I wasn’t aware of that personally”
