Luke Humphries won the US Darts Masters by beating Nathan Aspinall 8-6 in the final. But the former World Champion had another surprise for his opponent which he did not expect.

The two got along well and treated the audience to an exciting final showdown. Aspinall just missed the opportunity to force a deciding final leg, allowing Humphries to claim the title with an 8–6 victory.

As if Nathan Aspinall wasn’t already disappointed enough after missing out on the win, the former world champion had another surprise in store for his opponent. Without the world number six noticing, something unexpected happened right behind his back.

Still, Aspinall can look back on a successful tournament, as he was responsible for eliminating Luke Littler in the quarterfinals—despite the reigning world champion averaging 108.89.

With an average of 105.88 himself, Aspinall held his ground, and he had to rise to the occasion once more in the semifinal against Damon Heta. “The Heat” averaged 104.34, and to beat him, Aspinall needed an average of 102.

Michael van Gerwen looks back on a successful first day of his comeback, having defeated Leonard Gates. However, things went wrong early on day two for the Dutchman, when he faced Gerwyn Price in the quarterfinals.

“The Iceman” managed to beat Van Gerwen 6–3, with an average of 98.24. Michael’s average in that match came out at 93.94.

The next tournament on the PDC calendar will take place in Poland. This is the Poland Darts Masters, which will be held next weekend on Friday, July 4 and Saturday, July 5 in Gliwice.
