During an exhibiton game in Germany the final was played between Luke Humphries and Stephen Bunting. At 3-3 it was all down to the last leg and then Humphries produced this 9-darter.

In Germany, the Gude Darts Open took place, and the audience was treated to a spectacular finale. The semifinalist from the 2025 PDC World Championship could hardly believe his eyes when, in the deciding leg, he found himself on 81 after nine darts, perfectly positioned to finish the leg in 11 darts and secure his spot in the final.

At the same time, Humphries was on 141, with a purple ‘9’ displayed on the scoreboard, and the crowd was fully engaged. His first dart hit triple 20, and Humphries opted for the classic route, aiming for triple 19 and then double 12. The strategy paid off, as he delivered a perfect leg to clinch the tournament victory.

Just a year earlier, this tournament had been won by Raymond van Barneveld. The Dutchman defeated Luke Humphries in the final, dropping only one leg to the reigning world champion at the time.

While many top players are currently enjoying a well-deserved break, others remain active in demonstration tournaments and exhibitions. Adrian Lewis was also present in Germany and continues to be a popular figure at these events.

“The Jackpot” is determined to stage a comeback and has outlined a detailed plan for 2025. He has intentionally decided to skip participating in the PDC Q School for now.

Instead, he has signed a contract with MODUS and will compete in the MODUS Super Series in 2025. However, he hasn’t ruled out entering the PDC Q School at a later date.

His ultimate goal is to reclaim the tour card he recently lost, aiming for a return in 2026. One thing is certain for Lewis: the two-time world champion, who dominated the PDC World Championship in 2011 and 2012, is far from finished, and his comeback is on the horizon.
