Michael van Gerwen is having a hard time after issues in his private life. Now he is back with this new video on social media in which he shows his frustrations when this happened to him when he spent the day on a canal cruise in Amsterdam. Along with four other canal boats, they became the target of an action by Extinction Rebellion because there were visitors on board from the millionaires fair, Masters Expo.
The demonstrators are opposed to the fair, formerly known as the Millionaire Fair, because they believe it promotes increased consumption and unnecessary emissions.”
Next week the NAVO top will come to the Netherlands and therefore more of these actions can be expected.
A little under a month ago, news broke that Michael van Gerwen was withdrawing from the darts circuit with immediate effect. It was also made public that he and Daphne had decided to separate.
That evening, Van Gerwen was originally scheduled to play a match against Micky Mansell at the Dutch Darts Championship in Rosmalen. However, the home match did not go ahead, and Van Gerwen hasn’t played a match under the PDC banner since.
According to Vincent van der Voort, things are quite different at home right now. He says Van Gerwen is training hard and has already made a mental shift.
This could mean we might soon see a Michael van Gerwen who is fully committed again and putting in the training hours.

Van der Voort, who is not only his best friend but also involved in a coaching role, would love nothing more than to see the hunger and drive from a few years ago return to Michael.
Still, training is not necessarily straightforward at the moment, even though he has more time now that he’s not playing in PDC tournaments and therefore not constantly on the road. A lot of his time now goes to his children, and Michael has to make time for that himself, according to Vincent.
“I think he’ll play fewer exhibitions. He now has to be with his children more often, which was previously all managed from home. New arrangements need to be made for that now,” he said on Dutch darts podcast Darts Draait Door.
In any case, it’s good to see that Michael van Gerwen is once again sharing footage of himself, giving the outside world a brief glimpse of him.
Despite all signs pointing to intense training, it’s still unknown when we’ll next see him in front of the cameras at the dartboard.
