At the MODUS version of the World Cup of Darts there was this remarkable moment with team the Netherlands. Danny van Trijp left 36 points for his teammate but Jimmy van Schie had his own way of going for 36 points…

The tournament produced even more special moments, as during the match between the Netherlands and England, the Dutch team nearly witnessed a nine-darter. Mervyn King and Steve West formed a duo and came close to achieving the first perfect leg in a pairs tournament.

After hitting two 180s, they also found the treble 20 with the seventh dart, but missed the treble 19, dashing the English duo’s hopes. They proved too strong for the Dutch, winning 4-2, although the Dutch had previously beaten them 4-1.

Things are going well for the Dutch men, as they also claimed victories over Scotland (Campbell/Henderson) with a 4-3 score, Belgium (Raman/Van den Bergh) 4-1, and Gibraltar (Galliano/Hewitt) also 4-1.

The tournament is played in a group stage format, so elimination doesn’t immediately mean the end of the event. The tournament is open to players who no longer hold a PDC Tour Card and serves as a springboard for up-and-coming talents.

This results in a surprising mix of former professional players showcasing their skills once again, while emerging talents measure themselves against them. It’s also a pathway back to the top, as Adrian Lewis is currently aiming for.

“The Jackpot” wants to make a comeback to the professional circuit and has chosen the MODUS Super Series as the route to get there. Although he is not yet active in this series, he is expected to participate soon, as he has mentioned in previous interviews.
