David Munyua was playing against Mike de Decker during the afternoon session of the PDC World Darts Championship. He managed to hit the most beautiful checkout we have seen so far in Ally Pally.
At least that is what he thought because this is what happened next…

Later that game he was back on 135 and sure he was not going to make the same mistake again, would he? Well here we bring you the footage when he was on the same checkout again.
The little check to see if the bullseye was in, John Part going apeshit in commentary, it’s going to take something special to top this moment 😂 pic.twitter.com/7wvYTP7gOH

For Mike De Decker, it proved to be a match he will want to forget quickly. The current world number 18 suffered a shock exit, being sent home by an unheralded player from Africa. The defeat was particularly painful for the Belgian, who had raced into a 2–0 lead in sets and looked well on course for a straightforward victory without dropping a set.

However, De Decker was unable to close out the match. Munyua staged a remarkable comeback and ultimately sealed the win, doing so with an average of just 80.78—more than enough to complete one of the biggest surprises of the tournament so far.
It was, in general, a disappointing World Championship for the Belgians. Alongside De Decker, Maria Vandenbogaerde, Andy Baetens, Dimitri Van den Bergh and Kim Huybrechts were all eliminated in the opening round.
In many ways, this tournament has become a showcase for newcomers stealing the spotlight. From the dancing Japanese crowd favourite Motomu Sakai, who set Alexandra Palace alight with his moves, to Kenya’s David Munyua knocking out a top-20 player, fresh faces are making their mark on the sport’s biggest stage.
With such storylines already unfolding, the World Championship promises plenty more drama in the days ahead, and darts fans can look forward to many more memorable moments at Ally Pally.
