Sunday evening, David Pallett played the final match of the night against Thomas Junghans at the Lakeside. However, the Englishman pulled off a move on stage that is not allowed.

What David Pallett did with the dartboard at the Lakeside is not permitted. It was a busy day for Pallett, who was supposed to play earlier in the evening but due to circumstances, could only join later. The reason was that he urgently had to go to the hospital because his wife was giving birth.

Everything went well, allowing him, as a new father, to gear up for his first match on the Lakeside stage. It’s understandable that his mind wasn’t completely focused.

Who was also not completely focussed is Mark Barilli during his game with Jim Widmayer. The Scottish player shocked the commenators when he did this.

But let’s get back to David Pallett as his day didn’t end in the fairytale way he might have imagined because the birth of his child wasn’t followed by a victory on the renowned stage. With a 2-0 set score, the man from Switzerland was too strong, and so David had to pack his bags.

The good news is that he can now spend ample time with his wife and child, fully enjoying the first days of the newborn. However, what he did in the footage above, referred to as ‘Pointing,’ doesn’t make up for it. Two years ago, James Wade and Bradley Brooks also committed this act, much to the displeasure of commentator Paul Nicholson.

Earlier this year, we witnessed another notable moment from David Pallett when he painfully erred in a miscount for a 9-darter. This occurred during the MODUS Super Series in a match against Colin Osborne.

Due to his unique choices, despite throwing 6 perfect darts, he couldn’t set up for a perfect leg. Ironically, that’s even rarer than achieving a successful perfect leg itself.
