Kim Huybrechts had this moment during his game with Luke Humphries which you rarely see. It happened during the 8th leg of the final and is shown on the footage below.
With a convincing 8-1 victory, he dominated The Hurricane, recording an impressive average of 105.57. Kim Huybrechts only managed an average of 86.14 in the final, and the aforementioned moment certainly didn’t help his performance.
In an earlier match, Humphries also threw an imposing average, sending Luke Littler home. The reigning world champion, in a repeat of the World Championship final, threw 108.56 and defeated the 17-year-old 7-4. Littler, who had been in fine form earlier that weekend, averaged 106.73.
Against Michael van Gerwen, Littler threw 110.57, but despite Van Gerwen’s average of 112.19, the Dutchman only managed to win one leg in the match.
But there was more at stake this weekend, as players were competing for a spot in the PDC European Championship. For Dirk van Duijvenbode, it was a particularly important weekend, as he secured the 32nd qualifying spot.
The tournament will take place from Thursday, October 24, to Sunday, October 27, in Dortmund. Evening sessions are scheduled for Thursday and Friday, with both afternoon and evening sessions on Saturday and Sunday.
If you’d like to attend the event live in Dortmund, tickets are still available through the usual PDC Europe channels, with prices starting from 20 euros.
