On 14th May Wessel Nijman played an online match against David Evans during the Icons of Darts League. The DRA has found the Dutchman is guilty of matchfixing by deliberately losing 4-0 as there was a big bet of money on this match. He admitted he was guilty, apologized and will accept his punishment.
The DRA has published the punishment today which is a substantial suspension of five years. Two-and-a-half years of this ban will be suspended on the condition that Nijman continues to engage in player education and anti-corruption measures as agreed with the DRA.
Watch two moments of this match below when he had the chance at a double but missed on purpose.
