Mervyn King has thrown a 9-darter withouth flights. Stephen Bunting claims this in his Tour Mates talk with PDC as an answer on the question “Who is the person most likely to hit a 9-darter?”
Stephen Bunting: “I would say Mervyn King. I have seen him do it without flights in which was one of the best practices [training sessions] I have ever seen.”

It sounds crazy but it’s not impossible to throw darts without flights. Last week we showed you this guy hitting a 180 with clout nails. But to hit 9 perfect darts in this way is the next level.
This ‘no flights 9-darter’ by The King all happened during a training session so we got no footage of this perfect leg. We can show you a young Mervyn King hit a 9-darter against Gary Anderson at the UK Open 10 years ago.
