During the walk on to the stage for the semi final of this week’s Premier League night between Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen there was this incident. A supporter pulled Littler’s arm who looked shocked and was shaking his head as he was furious with the guy in the crowd. Security immediately came into action when this moment happened.
Littler proceeded to greet fans, albeit acknowledging he was experiencing some discomfort and feeling a bit unsettled by the time he reached the stage.
Luke Littler: “I’m not sure who he was, but he grabbed my arm. It stung a bit. That’s why I didn’t fully engage with the crowd during my performance. Despite hearing everyone singing along, I just needed to center myself. When referee Charlie signaled ‘Game On,’ I had to calm myself down. Thankfully, my hand is okay. Everything turned out fine in the end.”
There’s no information regarding the fate of the individual who grabbed him, but Littler went on to defeat Van Gerwen 6-3. Subsequently, he triumphed over Aspinall in the final, securing a 6-4 victory highlighted by an impressive checkout. Littler currently sits second in the eight-player standings, trailing leader Humphries by four points in his debut appearance on the roadshow.
