With his 17th win of the season at the Brazilian Grand Prix 2023 Max Verstappen broke the 71 year old record of Alberto Ascari. In 1952 the Italian driver won 6 out of 8 races which means he won 75% of the races in that season. The Red Bull driver know has won 17 races out of the total of 22 races this year with 2 still remaining. This results in 77,27% win at this moment.

As a result of this Gianpiero Lambiase put a song on the team radio which has a history for Max Verstappen. It was the song ‘Green Green Grass of Home’ by Tom Jones which Max and Jos always put on the radio when they drove home from Italy during their karting days.
